Alas, I need a new car as mine is going to cost to much to restore since i plowed it into a tree... at least it still drives for the time being. Anyone have any advice on selling it? Is it possible to sell it for what the hardware is all worth together?

You have a better chance of getting more money selling parts seperately. Whole systems can be bought so cheaply from eMachines and the like that they are not a novelty - it's the parts that are in demand from anyone who wants an eBay price.

Working is one thing, but id like one i can keep for a few years, one that wouldnt be an eyesore either.

Yeah, selling the PC as a whole would probably net you more cash. Especially on eBay.

I'd, before you sell it, format, reinstall windows, run Aquamark, 3DMark, and a couple other benchmarking programs, post the scores, and then use some program to whipe the hard-drive hard-core, like 7 times. I don't remember what the program is though, . That's just so you don't have anyone stealing your data.

After that, start the bid around 800, and set the reserve for a thousand, and let eBay rip it up. I'm seeing it selling for quite a bit.

Wow Yoshi, those are really high prices. You'll be lucky to get half for used computer components. Also keep in mind that as new technology comes out, people will want to pay even less for old AND used stuff. Your mobo may have cost you 150 dollars a year or two ago, but that doesn't mean you can sell it for 75 now. Because there's probably a superior board selling for 50-75 brand new.

Don't even bother selling it, you won't get enough money. You need to get a job is what you must do.

Like I said, I don't know about that TV card, the US Robotics modem I admit I was off, but the mobo is spot on, as is the chip. Processors usually don't got down in price, and like I said, if it's unlocked, then it goes down even less. Hell it might even go up. Why? Because an unlocked 2500+ is like the sweet sweet nectar from the computer gods.

I dunno where you guys live... But here in Ontario it's pretty easy with some searching to find a car in decent working condition that doesn't look all too bad for $200. My friend only bought one yesterday, nothing wrong with it, and the car looks almost new.

Well its a little harder to find a nice IROC-Z for under $4000, especially if it has a 350 TPI. So... I'm not in the market for 'just a car'... I already have 'just a car'... granted its a 84 camaro, but its beyond my want to repair now.
