Some questions about Firefox

I just recently switched to the latest version of Firefox, and I'll be danged if I can figure out how to use plug-ins. I've been trying to get Flash and Shockwave to work, but I can't figure out how. Am I just doing this wrong, or will they not work with Firefox?

...well it's rather simple.

Go to www.miniclip.com click on a flash game, download plugin, install, do same for shockwave.

....or just go to www.macromedia.com and download the installers directly.

I think Firefox comes preloaded with something... one or the other I think.

Go to a page with a embedded object that needs a plugin. If it doesn't appear, click on the puzzle piece to go download it. It will take you to a page where you can get a Firefox/Mozilla/Netscape version of the plugin that will work with Firefox.

I use Firefox and I have no problems with Flash or Shockwave (I have them both installed).

[Edit: Type about [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]lugins into your address bar to view your installed plugin information. It also contains links to plugin information and plugin installation help.]

It should say, when you install, as the browser "Firefox 9.4.0" or whatever.

0.9.3 [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

And also, plugins meant for Mozilla or Netscape _MAY_ work for Firefox... if there is no firefox option I'd try a Mozilla or Netscape one.

Just tell the installer to use Firefox's plugin directory. It should say if it doesn't detect your Firefox installation "pick manual plugin folder" or some such. Just navigate to where Firefox is installed, and highlight the plugin folder.
