Holiday Logo Contest 2008!

Post your logos here to be added, or email them to webmaster@sorrowind.net

As usual I will donate $1 per accepted submission. If someone wants to match that again this year, let me know. Also, as posted below, this year there will be a REWARD for the winner of the best holiday logo, to be decided in January! We will have a vote at the end of the contest to determine the best! The reward will be an avatar of your choice (within reason and at my discretion) to be placed under your name for the year of 2009.

Remember, you can submit multiple logos, so feel free to boost your chances by submitting many! But I will only accept ones that are worth displaying, so churn out some good stuff!

To submit a logo for the contest, just follow this simple set of guidelines:
  1. The logo's dimensions must be 384x154 (the size of our current logo)
  2. The logo must be compressed decently in JPG, GIF, or PNG format.
  3. The logo must not be animated.
  4. The logo must contain "Massassi Temple" in some form.
  5. Quality over quantity! Your name will be displayed under it so do your best!
  6. It must be festive, tying in with one of the many holidays in December!
  7. Star Wars themes get bonus points!

As soon as I get some submissions, genk's old logo will be removed. It's just filler until we have something up for the 2008 season.

Sure. Even better, the winner will get to have an avatar of their choice on the forums for 1 year (till next holiday contest).

I'm not sure I really like that, because as we continue, logos get less and less viewership. If I do, I'll have to add a new randomization system that adds weight to new logos over old ones.

That said, you can always check previous logos on the holiday page. (Yes I am aware 2007 isn't there, I'll get that fixed tomorrow)

But we can always post the new logos on the front page. Having an old classic pop up on the top of the page as a nice little nostalgic surprise was something I always found cool.

Perhaps, have the new ones pop up more frequently (or always) toward the deadline of the contest and let the old ones appear now? That way, we can get into the "holiday banner spirit"?

But I do wonder if making this into a contest would deter people away. It's always been casual in the past, just thinking it may be harmful to make a competition over holiday cheer. *shrug*

Why would it? Everyone gets their logos displayed regardless.
