It says the fuel tank is 5 gal? Is that in addition to what it already has, a typo, or is that the best way they could come up with to make it environmentally friendly without going electric/hybrid?

It's probably a 5 gallon racing cell much like this one. They certainly didn't put 5 gallon fuel tanks in stock corvettes...
