Multi-system video game setups?

I have an NES, SNES, N64, and GC that I enjoy equally and regularly. It's a mess of wires, games, controllers, you name it, everywhere. How is one to manage this arsenal of electrertainment? Examples of what people have set up?

At this moment I have 1 VCR plugged into my Video 2 input, my N64 in my Video 3 input, and 1 DVD player plugged into Video 1 input.

I then have a second DVD player plugged into my VCR's Video 1 input.

I pretty much just mangle them like this (well, my dad does anyway). I once had them all hooked into the stereo, so you had to have it on DVD to see/hear anything from the DVD player.

The wires are all behind our stands completely out of view. If I were to swap wires, it'd be hell..

As for the controllers, their all on neatly placed beside the consoles.

None of my old consoles are in use anymore really, so they're all stored in a box somewhere. My 360, PS3, and cable box are all hooked up via HDMI with the Wii hooked up via component. Add that in with all 3 consoles using wireless controllers and I really have no cord clutter issues...

Why would you have two dvd players?

They make switches you can plug multiple devices into, which run into just one input on a TV, and then you turn a knob to a number or press a button that would connect just one of the devices at a time.

Bonus: some decent stereo receivers will do the switching for you. The newer ones even support HD (component/HDMI).

you can get a 4 input switch pretty cheap keep controllers packed away in a drawer when not using them and consider using the wavebird controller on your gamecube

i've spent alot of time trying to figure out how i'd hook up my setup seeing how many i have... and it's a big task... you only list 4 consoles i have Atari 2600, Atari Super Pong, Intellivision, NES, SNES, Genesis (with 32X), CD-i, 3DO, Saturn, N64, Dreamcast, PS2, GCN... my 360 and PS3 will remain in a different setup until i get an HDTV for the main gaming setup and the main setup won't be hooked up until i can figure it all out

i've figured out all the consoles with composite and s-video connections it's the older stuff i'm worried about... since the RF switches are manual and automatic switches tend to not work so well... manual switches would require reaching behind the TV and a daisy chain of RF switches could degrade my TV signal... i may just grab a cheap 80s TV from a rummage sale or something for those systems

1. One is a DVD burner for TV, the other is a regular DVD player. My dad prefers to use the regular one for playing, and the burner for well, burning. He's stupid so he fears he'll ruin the burner by using it when he doesn't need to.

2. We use the DVD burner to burn our home movies from VCR, or backup already existing DVD videos using the DVD burner and DVD players, along with our computer at the same time, to speed up the backups.

3. Occasionally we backup movies from DVD player to the burner.

4. It gives us more inputs for our consoles.

Mostly for number 1 and 4 though.

It's safe to say that, unless you live here, you'll never be able to use more than just the TV or my N64.
