MaDa died.

Man, that was rough, I thought people on the Internet didn't die but they did!

... /_\

So anyhow, let's reminisce mr. Limelite!. I still use some of his textures even though they are better available but they're pretty funky anyhow! God bless him.

Has it been 5 years? Wow. I did not know him that well, other than just a person posting on this forum. But I remember the posts about his struggle .. eventually leading to his passing.

I did think it was really cool how much Massassi meant to him, giving him happiness in those days. And even the thanks Massassi sent out after his passing probably meant a lot to his parents.

My friend Wayne Howard (whom I knew for about a decade on IRC) died on the same day a year ago. I didn't realise until now that it's the same day as MaDa.

Cheers.

I had the luck of being able to speak to him a few times on IRC when he was revamping the Limelite. I think he even made me admin on the boards for a little while.

RIP Mr. MaDa.

Edit: And now I'm all depressed :( I read through old postings and such. *siiiigh*

did massassi get hacked at some point? i say this because the link to the memorial post on the limelite website goes to a page that reads "This site is defaced!!!": http://forums.massassi.net/html/Forum1/HTML/031774.html

Gah... I remember that, his site is really sad now. Someone make a tribute JK level using his textures!

I remember he was the first member of Massassi to talk to me outside of the forums, on ICQ. I remember every day almost he would have some kind of a new level, or something new tweaked with one that he would want everyone to try out and give feedback. I think I even still have him on my ICQ list if I were to download it.. :(

RIP.

I remember e-mailing him a few times or chatting online, he was helping me with some editing questions I had. Nice guy, always seemed to be helping people and still making some great levels and textures. Sad that he's gone. I can't believe it's been 5 years. :(
2008-12-10, 2:30 PM #23
I still have a bunch of his textures laying around on an old hard drive; I was using them for the level I was making for the memorial level pack but I never finished it.

He made a texture set for me once. I made a really crummy quake 3 map with them.

:-\

Kinda sobering how it actually seems like it's been longer than 5 years to me

MaDa was an awesome dude, hope he's in heaven 'cause God could give him some editing tips and maybe let him try out his super duper fancy editor

I hadn't realized that yesterday was the fifth year... :( I still can't believe he's gone, and sometimes still forget he's gone. It's always been comforting how well loved and appreciated he was here, which is just one of many reasons I return here every day. This site and JK has been a part of my past that I love and will never forget, and I have Adam to thank for it because he introduced me to this community.

I've been trying to keep the site up as best I can. I can't let the site go down. It's kind of the last thing I have to hold onto Adam's memory with.

I had a bit of a memroial page up on the LimeLite, but the page was damaged during some processing with the site (that I performed), and I haven't had the time to completely recreate it because I have to rewrite every single line of code of every page that was damaged. I think all the pages are OK except the main 'memorial' page which I'm working to reconstruct now..

[Edit] I was able to restore the page, and everything seems to be in order again. Should anything not be working correctly, please let me know, via e-mail, PM, or whatever other means available. [/edit]

There was a period of two years or so where I stopped visiting Massassi (no particular reason, just had other things going on in my life). It was during this time that MaDa died. Needless to say I was shocked and felt terrible. At least he isn't suffering anymore, though.
