Also, to truly capture the spirit of Dragon Ball, the movie would have to be sixteen hours long, but use only three still photos in a loop per scene.

i didnt know it was possible for anything to be more stupid than dragon ball the series....but somehow this is.

Stupid? Ah come on, dragon ball has lots of awesome stuff in it. A huge fan base, and the chala-head-chala (DBZ) theme song sounds great in any language but English. I prefer the Japanese and Spanish versions.

Dragonball != DBZ. Dragonball was actually rather decent.

I know. I've seen every single episode of both.

But this movie is just entirely wrong. Who are these fools making the dragonballs? Why isn't Piccolo named McJunior? Where the hell is Krillin? And Chi-Chi? What about the turtle? Or Yamcha? Or Goku's TAIL?

Isn't Krillin from DBZ? They are making a a trilogy. Yamcha is in there, Goku's tail was thrown out the window. Chi-Chi is there I think.

Krillin was in the original Dragonball and yes, Chi-Chi is in there too.

By throwing goku's tail out the window they probably made him human as well, thus throwing the whole "Saiyan" aspect out the window as well. Thus any sequels would pretty much make absolutely no sense, and the storyline would be long gone.

Really this probably could have been a better movie had they not associated it with dragonball at all, and instead just used it for inspiration. Trying to claim that it is indeed dragonball, is only going to make the appreciation for the movie far less.

It would be like if they made the movie Armageddon called Star Trek, and named the main characters after the crew in the show, and called one of the space shuttles the Enterprise.

I* had a room-mate who was a huge dbz fan.
At first I didn't mind it, but the more you watch the stupider it gets, the more annoying the pathetic side-stories are that are injected just to make the fights last longer (otherwise the fights would be exciting, and we can't have that can we?), the lamer the characters get...
Man I could go on for hours, but first give me a dozen or so days to charge up....

I spent the whole trailer trying to convince myself that this must be fake, because I can't see any possible way of a live action Dragonball movie turning out to be any good.

I don't know how the fight scene could be so awful, but in the next frame the explosion is freakin' awesome.

That was absolutely horrible. It was like some horrible american japan crossover film with the names of characters from dragon ball pasted in. I'm so blown away by how rediculous that looks. Dragon Ball would make an excellent live action film if done right, with a young boy playing the part and doing the actions, and have it highly stylized towards the show, not in some random off way.

Thats more applicable to something like the clone hunters movie of star wars, where its a hard pill to swallow, but its tolerable and at least well made.


This is just a cheesy imitation of a already cheesy show. Fail sandwich.
