It always weirds me out when they say "a person was shot in the face" and then go on to say "transported to the hospital with no life-threatening injuries".

Yeah, my idea of a headshot is some Mortal Kombat style brutality, but I suppose the reality is you can survive it. Maybe the girl had a really big face.

Well, it depends on your definition of 'spree' ... there are multiple homicides all over LA county all the time throughout the year (as there are in other places across the US), so...

Uhhh, LA is crowded?

It's like 5 people per square foot annual average.

Can you imagine being 8 years old and opening the door only to have Santa shoot you in the face. That's going to be one traumatized little girl. Probably won't answer another door as long as she lives either.
