Not the thing that comes from nipples. I'm talking about the latest Sean Penn film. Just got back from seeing it. First movie in a long time to make me cry. Probably one of the best I have seen this year.

Did anyone else see it? If so, what did you think?

I've seen the trailer on tv but it gave me no idea of what it's about.

It was probably one of the best movies this year, second only to Frost/Nixon for me. Its amazing that Josh Brolin has gone from Goonies to American Gangster, No Country for Old Men, W., and Milk in recent years. The guy is amazing. His character could have easily been one-dimensional as Harvey Milk's assassin, but he actually made a character you could sort of empathize with. Equal praise to the other actors, but I particularly loved Brolin in this.

It seems like every Sean Penn film I have seen (I Am Sam, Into The Wild, Milk, etc.) has been a powerhouse film that really made me look at an aspect of life a completely different way.

I thought Into the Wild was well-made, but I can't bring myself to enjoy it because it glorifies an idiot.

Also, despite the fact that he wasn't directing, Mystic River is also an amazing film ( I mean, didn't he win Best Actor for it?) Plus, Clint directs and he is of course a huge badasstard.
