technically it's not 256Kbps they use LAME with -V 0 so it's VBR in the general ballpark of 256Kbps

and yes DRM free

Awesome... though "best of" collections almost invariably suck
2008-12-30, 11:12 PM #9
Why would anyone listen to music this old? It's so outdated, you should just turn on MTV and listen to today's music instead. This ancient crap doesn't even have lyrics, or guitar solos, or any other things that contribute to a satisfying aural experience.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

To be fair, "best of" collections almost invariably have less than 16 hours of music. :P

If you don't like it, don't buy it-- but for 2 bucks, it's hard to go wrong.

Indeed, that's why I prefaced my comment with "Awesome". But "best of" collections usually hire sub-par musicians, aren't produced as well, and always take bits of larger pieces out of context. I'm a little wary of that when it comes to albums that are supposed to reach out to new audiences. Why not try to sell your best, rather than your worst?

Really didn't mean to be too negative; just wanted to register some wariness--It is an excellent deal.

Kroko, saunaland is supposed to be the last bastion of classical music!
