I hope to god it isn't Patterson Joseph. :psyduck:

I hope they announce there won't be another Doctor Who, and that he gets hit with a big rock and dies.

nobody can kill Doctor Who, not even 60 years of time
2009-01-02, 11:49 PM #7
well you can kill him, but he'll just regenerate. Which is what we're talking about anyway

I can't wait to find out.

Actually I believe theres only 12 regeneration possible so after this one, they'll be onto the last one.

So they would be running out of time (God that was an awful pun)

There was some geeky plot hole that gets round that. I don't care enough to find out what it is though.

They said that a la doctor 3 or 4... if they had realized they'd have 10 doctors and still be wildly popular.. they never would have said it.*

They'll come up with some creative way around it.

What they'll probably do is say that the regeneration rule was a rule imposed by the Gallifreyians, not a physical restriction. They gave The Master a whole new set of regenerations, so it seems like there's no physical reason they can't do it.

Yeah that was what I was thinking.

Ah well if he flops Rob will orgasm...
2009-01-03, 10:11 AM #14
Aye, he seemed a touch fugly.
2009-01-03, 10:31 AM #15
He should try food too. I don't think he's eaten in awhile.

Plus, he's so young. Geez, is the next doctor after him going to wearing diapers?

he's obviously giddy though. I don't know how I feel about this, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until I see him in the episode.

He should take some vitamin D though, to get some life into that skin o_o

12 regenerations means 13 Doctors, this guy is only the 11th, so two more after him.

the 13 regenerations is a time lord political rule not a biological rule

That's indeed a valid theory.

Then how come the one Time Lord killed himself by attempting a 13th?

dont know...canon is about to rip apart though lol
2009-01-04, 2:30 PM #26
RTD never paid attention to silly things like cannon. Stephen Moffat might but there's a precedent for ignoring some things in the classic series, so they may or may not comply with that rule.

Do Yanks like Doctor Who then?

Always assumed it was quirky British sci-fi that was overlooked/misunderstood overseas. I can't get my head round it myself....

I met Tom Baker last year, thought he was a bit of a pompous tit.

Yanks like the new series. I've met a few who like the classic series too. It's less widely known over here though
