Little Known Animal Facts!

I'm writing a book about little known animal facts, entitled Little Known Animal Facts. Maybe you guys can help me by posting some of your own little known animal facts!

A sample:

Mountain Lions have trouble seeing at the moment of sunset or sunrise!

If a duck is turned upside down, it will die!

Crickets chirp faster in warm weather than in cold weather!

(Facts can range from true all the way to ridiculous. The fun is in not knowing!)

You can create a seemingly perpetual motion machine by putting a peice of jellied toast on the back of a cat. (Since toast with jelly always lands jelly side down but a cat always lands on its feet)

I would guess this originated when there's bad weather about, the ants are heading straight back to the colony. When there isn't, they're exploring.

The duck has to be completely upside-down for at least 5 minutes. It's all very science-related, I don't want to get into it right now. The science.

Llamas can spit 4" groupings at 5 yards.

Little known Animal facts?
Even though when it was roaming free, it would take over my laptop and try to kitty box me if I tried to move it, when it's locked in roommates room, meowing for hours at end is REALLY ANNOYING and SAD.

Normally, I hate cats. But he's so cute. And it being trapped in a room meowing and scratching at the door is really sad.

I can swim...Really well.

But seriously, Squirrels CAN swim. I did not know this until a few years ago. I was out boating, and we saw this thing in the water. We moved over to it, and it was a FREAKING SQUIRREL IN THE MIDDLE OF A HUGE LAKE.

Yeah, that's crap. Take some tasty treat and hold it above the dog's head. Move it back more and more, the dog will keep looking upwards. My dog has almost flipped herself over doing this before.

When confronted with homo sapiens the homo Robbian becomes acerbic and obstinate. This is only a defense mechanism, however, that has evolved in order to mask homo Robbian's true intent: mating!

Unfortunately, the outer sexual organs of the homo Robbiens are far too small to copulate successfully with the female homo sapiens.
