1) Original poster tags their thread as they intend for the direction of their thread to be (ex. "media").

3) The thread would then be tagged by what the majority of the posts are tagged as.

Hm. I'm concerned that once the "majority meta-tag" of a thread has shifted to a new category (let's say from [DEAL] to [TECH]... whatever those mean), only people who want to talk about the new category ([TECH], in this case), will go there.
