Looks neato bandito. What are your plans for it, and by that I clearly mean besides general mayhem and terrorism.

On a slightly related note, I went skeet shooting for the second time yesterday, but it was my first time actually shooting on the... thing? the semi-circle with stations they use for sporting. It was pretty fun.

Don't **** with JLee

Couldn't you just, I don't know, press assault charges, like normal people?

I mean. Do you really want attempted murder to escalate into an all out feud like this?

****. I'm getting myself an uzi.

Nothing ATM- just need to stock up on ammo. I've already seen one of these at a gun show for over twice what I paid, so I'll hang onto it for a while and see what happens.

side folders just don't look right

the only folding stock that looks right on a AK is underfolding

still prefer non folding standard wood stock

I was going to mention not liking the stock as well, but he's got an AK and I don't so I shut up :P

Why do you have a folding stock when your case is big enough to have it full size? Am I missing something obvious here about stocks in general? I thought they were only storage things.

I thought JLee was a cop, not a terrorist.

Uh...you do realize that cases are much cheaper than guns, and it is not a problem to buy a larger or smaller case to fit a firearm..

Yeah, the sidefolders look a little funky, but at 300 bucks with three mags, bayonet and original cleaning kit, factory target, etc (saw one at the gun show a couple months ago for $780), I'm not complaining. :)

-enter someone ranting on its inaccuracy due to increased round size, as compared to other assault rifles-

Nice score though, a friend of mine has one and goes to the ranges with it quite often. Packs a nice kickback. Good stuff for sure.

(Um yea but it's got more power, isn't that a really good as well?)

Agreed, you're the second person in the past month who I have heard mentioning picking up an AK for $300. I wish I could find a similar deal. I've been looking to get one. I'm not going to drop $500+ But it does seem like these pop up cheap every once in a while. I've read a lot of people online saying they found similar deals.

the size of the round has nothing to do with the reported inaccuracy of the AK design...

the inaccuracy comes from the flexing of the receiver during firing... and this varies greatly depending on the specifics of construction... mainly stamped or milled with milled being the stronger more accurate design

and with his rifle being semi-auto only this issue will not likely present itself

Portability- my AR15 has a collapsible stock, though I never use it in any position other than fully extended.

Both of my buddies with AK's have wood stocks, does the folder affect the balance at all?. Is the bayonet the type that makes wire cutters with the sheath?

I love racking it, I'd sit there and just rack the slide after cleaning it from shooting all day :P

Yep. I haven't shot it yet, so I can't really tell you much about the balance- I'm accustomed to M4-style Armalites, so I guess I'm used to unbalanced stuff anyway. :P

lovely AK. that said, i'd install wood furniture (dark stain) asap.
2009-01-11, 9:02 AM #23
yeah that is something he could do is replace the stock

especially if he finds the folding stock a tad too long because just guessing by the picture it looks a bit longer than a standard wood stock
