acer desktop. amd x2 64. everything onboard.
an update before xmas was installed and on reboot it got to step 3 of 3 0% then restarts infinitely. i don't know what the updates were at the time. my son did them and i'm just getting to look at it now.
i interrupted the boot up and then selected last known good config from the menu for the next reboot. no luck.

any suggestions? please and thanks. am i stuck with a reinstall?

yeah, safe mode it, and do a system restore.
My girlfriend paid a lot of money for that tv; I want to watch ALL OF IT. - JM

Huh, you know the only time I had a problem like this it was a driver issue. Vista was all like "You ****ed up, I'm going to connect to the internet and fix it for you, hold on." Then it did, and it was magical that I didn't have to ****ing like write a driver into some obscure *** directory from a command prompt to fix this ****.


Either way, you need to I assume get into your registry and remove whatever janky **** in startup that is causing you to loop
