Things to look forward to in 2009

Ok, so the pesky internets keep telling me that there are very few promising games coming out this year, so I think it's time to glance ahead to see what is worth waiting for this year. I've got a couple to kick us off.

1. Terminator Salvation (May) :: I'm a huge fan of the franchise, it looks like it can't go wrong (judging by the stuff online) and I'm very excited. Oh, and Timothy Zahn's doing a prequel novel to it (someone else is doing the novelisation of the film itself - check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terminator_Salvation )

2. Street Fighter IV (Feb) :: I'm hopelessly addicted to HD remix, and I suspect this will be no different. Bring. It. On.

3. Martyn's wedding and then honeymoon (August) :: yeah, so I had to sneak that in ;) Two weeks in St Lucia, all inclusive, private beach, no kids allowed in the hotel. The wedding itself will be a right ol knees up too, and a mate of mine will be playing the music for our first dance on accoustic guitar. Can't wait. :neckbeard:

So Massassi, what's on the cards for your 2009?

Jean-Michel Jarre in Finland on May 15th.

Besides that... well, I haven't followed the gaming ... scene.. (what a terrible term) since late 2007 so not really looking forward to any games... ... not really waiting for any new films...

Hm. I guess the vague remnant of a life I used to have is gone as well. Perhaps I should be waiting for... Godot? Bah. :Z

My company is publishing all of the tie-in books, and some people at work have even seen early cuts of the films :ninja:

I look forward to my wound healing up sometime during this year...

I'm praying that either Diablo III or Starcraft II come out sometime this year. Long shot, but I can dream.

Martyn, do you watch TSCC?

Detty, you should hook it up with books :P (And I totally jealous of the watching early cuts of the movie, omg, I would seriously murder a school room full of innocent little children to see it)

But yea, so far, just T4.

Go for it, you won't regret it. I jump all the time and it's amazing. All the people who come and do tandem jumps or whatever, they all have a blast.

Well I'm broke and in debt now .. so later..
I have a friend who has 200+ jumps under her belt that (used to at least) jumps all the time. She'd probably get me a good deal.. but I'm out of touch with her. I should track her down..

Quake Live will likely go public this year. Of course I just got into the beta so it's not something I need to look forward to as much. >_> I found out I still suck at Quake anyway.

We might get a new Zelda title for the Wii.

... Year of the Linux Desktop (again)?
