How the hell do you hold that thing?
2009-01-21, 1:54 PM #7
There's a hole in the back for your arm. You ever played Portal? You can see yourself holding it. :)

Never played portal. I don't see a hole, but I trust you.

excellent craftsmanship

Do not touch the operational end of the device. Do not look into the operational end of the device. Do not submerge the device in liquid, even partially. Most important, under no circumstances should you-

You sir, have not lived.

It has a handle. Underneath. >.> You stick your arm in the hole, eh, it's more of a slot really, and grab this handle on the bottom. And then you cradle the front bit in the other hand.

I've had the demo downloaded on my xbox for some time now, never got around to playing it. I'll check it out tonight.

I was misled by the title. I thought it would actually shoot portals that work.
DO NOT WANT.

Because that would very possible with today's technology, oh yes.

Hence my disappointment. I thought that there had been, like, a breakthrough in technology. :gbk:

even with any level of technology, i dont see how its even possible at all

Certainly it wouldn't be easy; would either involve breaking the laws of thermodynamics or a massive power expenditure from the gun, assuming the portals work the way they do in the game (i.e. with discontinuous gravitational fields)

Ok.
Just played the demo. Pretty cool. I love stuff like this, but does it get harder than the demo? I blew through the demo, everything was pretty linear. It was extremely easy. I got tied up for 5 minutes, but that's only because I though that the barrier that just dissolved my cube would dissolve me too. After not finding any other solution, I stepped through and lived. I might spend money I don't have on the full version, but not if it's as easy as the demo.

Oh, I only got to play it after I tried to find 'Demos' on my Xbox for 10 minutes without being connected to Xbox live, WTF is up with that? You need to have an active internet connection to play demos?

It looks good, but will it survive 4000 degrees Kelvin?

**** yes, and some of the extra levels are damn near impossible.
And when the moment is right, I'm gonna fly a kite.

Not being sure what's on the demo I can tell you it's got a near perfect difficulty curve. The whole game can be cleared by a normal person on their first go in about 3 or so hours. That may sound short, but in fact it's just right.

In fact, go to Zero Punctuation and watch the review of the orange box.

EVEN YAHTZEE THINKS IT'S AMAZING.
