Political Compass

I feel as if it would be a good time to compare our political views. I know this is old, but I've never seen any of these posted here.

The Political Compass

Economic Left/Right: 7.12
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 1.33

This is another quiz people may find interesting:

http://www.neo-libertarian.com/polquiz.html

I am a: liberal-leaning radical-leaning free marketeer

Post your results.

EDIT: I probably should have mentioned when I first posted this that the second quiz has three parts.

EDIT 2: I replaced my compass with a new one.

On the other quiz I'm a 'libertarian planner.' Totally contradictory, which actually decribes me pretty accurately.

I don't understand how Freelancer can be economically left AND libertarian, when libertarianism is all about the government leaving us alone and the left is all about taking our money.

I'm surprised at how overwhelmingly left Massassi is... I thought we had a pretty good mix of leftists and righties here.

This chart definitely isn't perfect and seems to rate people to the left when they're really rightists. Two conservatives on another forum I go to were placed to the left which seems pretty far off.

It also seems to place Democrats too far to the right IMO.

Woot. I thought I'd end up being a lot more 'authortarian', as I believe strongly in taxation. I don't like being this close to Ayn ****ing Rand.

I'm pretty sure this chart incorporates taxation on the left-right axis. Ayn Rand would probably be closer to me, in the "libertarian right" section of the graph.

Because, as far as I can tell, this test's authoritarian/libertarian axis is based entirely on social permisiveness and has nothing to do with economics. I'd peg true libertarians inward toward the origin a bit from 8, 8 (anarchy). I believe (intelligently) planned economies could improve standard of living by orders of magnitude but my version has never come close to actuality before.

Maybe we could add to it?

Me neither, double lame. Is that political compass chart based upon this particular test, or a different one?

Ah, yes. And actually it would appear that 10, -10 is possible, although I don't know how to achieve it with the test.

As for my link: yes, it is based on this test. That some of us aren't on the graph is precisely why I suggested adding to it.
