<Newbie5> Hello, new guy here. I just refound my old disc and through it into my new laptop. Looking for updates I found this site and have a couple of questions if you don't mind
<RogerSpruce> yeah, you can turn it off on mine too
<Newbie5> I downloaded a skin from the website but don't kno where to put the files
<RogerSpruce> FIRE AWAY, N00B
<Newbie5> I am completely surprised and elated that there is still a fan base for this game!
<RogerSpruce> me too!
<mb> cant you just use patch commander for that
<Baconfish> noos 2 me
<Newbie5> patch commander?
<Newbie5> where do I get that?
<RogerSpruce> you can get patch commander on massassi.net
<genk> that exe is broken
<RogerSpruce> but more importantly, the readme should tell you exactly where to put the skin files
<Newbie5> I looked in the readme file but it was just the disclaimer saying that it was all my risk
<Newbie5> no ins.
<Newbie5> I did a search on Massassi for "Patch Commander" but only found other mods
<Newbie5> I found the Patch Enforcer but the link is broken
<mb> http://www.mzzt.net/files/
<mb> try Uber Jedi Mod Manager
<RogerSpruce> if I remember right they go in the resource folder
<RogerSpruce> there should be a .3do file and many .mat files
<RogerSpruce> they should go in folders within /jedi knight/resource/
<Newbie5> Running the Uber Jedi Mod Manager now
<RogerSpruce> call the folders 3DO and MAT respectively
<RogerSpruce> but this is all me trying to remember something I did 7 or 8 years ago, and I've smoked myself stupid since then
<Newbie5> I didn't actually see a resource section. Just game data
<Newbie5> Unless I am in the wrong directory
<RogerSpruce> are we talking Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2?
<RogerSpruce> C:\program files\lucasarts\jedi knight <- this is where JK is installed for me
<RogerSpruce> in this folder there should be a folder named Resource
<Newbie5> That's where I am at but no resource folder
<RogerSpruce> make one
<Newbie5> perhaps I need to actually start the game normal do a save and voila...who knows
<RogerSpruce> no, it's your install settings
<Newbie5> ah
<RogerSpruce> if you had performed a complete install it would be there
<Newbie5> I thought I did
<RogerSpruce> just create the folder
<Newbie5> BRB
<RogerSpruce> guys, was I even close to correct?
<mb> i dunno sounds like it
<RogerSpruce> I guess we'll see when the N00B gets back
<llibja> Tahitian Treat - great soda, or greatest soda?
<mb> never even heard o fi
<RogerSpruce> same
<Newbie5> Back, created the folders
<mb> of... it...
<RogerSpruce> now put the 3do in the 3do folder
<RogerSpruce> OH
<RogerSpruce> the mat folder goes inside the 3do folder too
<Newbie5> I have a PK3 file for this skin
<RogerSpruce> that's not JK
<RogerSpruce> that's JO or JA
<Newbie5> scraptaskik...
<Commander_598> :cripes:
<Newbie5> I must have misspoke
<Newbie5> JO is what I have
<mb> that changes everything >_>
<Newbie5> Did I just punch myself in the throat?
<RogerSpruce> ... I even asked you!
<RogerSpruce> [21:47] <+RogerSpruce> are we talking Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2?
<RogerSpruce> and I showed you the directory!
<Newbie5> What can I say...I called myself Newbie5 for a reason

<Newbie5> not quite that serious
<Newbie5> I didn't see the question
<RogerSpruce> you sonuva *****...
<RogerSpruce> YOU HIGHTAIL IT OUT OF HERE
<Newbie5> le sigh
<Commander_598> It's all mb's fault. He never even said what the game was when mb just started talking about Patch Commander.

My UJMM works for JO too. :P

I need to get a new name for that. Patch Enforcer was a better choice than THAT...

I also need to rewrite it from scratch, code is all messy.

Unfrotunately if I had a list, these things would be rather low on it... >_>
