Today was just one of those days...

A friend of mine parked up the block from my house and partially on a patch of ice. The car(FWD civic) was parked facing up the hill.

I went outside with some kitty litter and cardboard. (For those of you who arent familiar with snow driving... It helps with traction)
From what I could tell, the tire was partially on pavement. My plan was to slowly move the car closer to the curb (where the pavement was dry) in order to gain a bit of traction. I started putting the kitty litter down on the ice and pushed the cardboard under the tire.

This is when a good Samaritan (someone else from town who i vaguely know(as a moron)) shows up and it all starts to go downhill.

She comes out of her huge silver Range Rover, why she has this truck I do not know. I live right outside Manhattan. This isn't exactly the most treacherous of terrain.

Anyway, she gets out of her soccermom-truckmobile and announces she has a brilliant plan.

:v:"Put the car in neutral and we'll push"

:carl:

 How is that a good idea?

:v: "Yea just put it in neutral and we'll push it off the ice"

:carl:

 "How is putting a car stuck on an icy hill in neutral a GOOD idea"

:v: "Whatever lets do it!"

So I walked towards the back of the car and positioned myself so that i could move quickly out of the way. I was to the side of the right bumper. You know... NOT behind the car. The lady was however. She was putting a ton of effort into it.

*car goes into neutral* (guess what happens. GUESS)

:v: "Stop! Stop! No! Stop!"

the Car only rolled back about 5 inches... I mean it's probably good she figured out what was going to happen, however she should have realized it before she even suggested it.

The next 15 minutes involved her taking over the car and spinning out the tire (which was smoking at some points because of the pavement it was actually hitting). The tire was just spinning and spinning which wasn't surprising considering she was flooring it.

She parks the car again and emerges:

:v: "Theres no way this car is getting off of this ice! Only Daniel will be able to get this car off'

 who the hells daniel...

Anyway, somewhere throughout all of her crazy acceleration, she managed to get the car onto more pavement. The owner of the car got in and FINALLY got it off the ice.

Moral of the story. That lady is dumb and I still dont like talking to her.

I bet she isn't hot, because if she were hot you'd like her!
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.
