Annoyingly fast computer? Anybody?

I play video games pretty much all day long. I can play the most graphic-intensive games with all settings on high and still have processor cycles to spare. It's a nuisance throughout the day, having to worry about keeping my computer fed with enough tasks to keep it busy. At night, I have to leave Folding@Home running when I go to sleep or I have no choice but to get up and play another full round of Crysis. Literally everyone around me, even people with decently good computers, are able to peg all their processor cores with Folding while I'm ready to encode a bunch of HD video or play a game at high resolution.

It's 2 months old, has NEVER been defragged or scanned for viruses, has a q9550 processor, 8 gigs of RAM, and a Radeon HD 4870X2. I'm making this post out of frustration from laying in bed wasting processor cycles the last hour and a half trying to sleep before finally accepting the fact that I'll never sleep unless I get my *** back up and play some video games or something.

Does this sound normal? I know everybody says...."ahh, computers that powerful, they never stop crunching numbers..." but damn. I can genuinely say this has a borderline negative/depressing effect on my life. Is there such a thing as a disorder....?

I have the opposite problem. I used to have AMD K6-2 450 MHz/64MB RAM/Voodoo 3 video card. I'm now up to P4 3GHz/1536MB RAM/GF 7600 GT, but I had to work my BALLS off to get here. I suppose it's better to have a speedy computer than a slow one. You should see a helpdesk guy or an IT engineer if you're that concerned. It might be a simple problem that a downgrade can fix, or you may just not be hogging enough processing power.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

No, my problem is I am used to an annoying fast computer and then when I come to work and sit down at this Pentium4, its cruel torture.

Seriously? And you're complaining about this?

if I had a system like that, I'd start encoding Bluray rips for my favorite release groups.

But then I'd need a blu-ray drive.

That's not a bad idea actually; I've been going way over my allotted bandwidth downloading [linux ISO] that are like 10 gigs each; I could [create from scratch, thus avoiding copyright infringement] my own.

Wait a minute is this a trick to get me to say something incriminating; let me just censor my post here...

Hee, I do love these recent mock threads. Sometimes it's hard to tell which one was the original one.

So there I was, sitting on my throne of platinum, chewing on some gold and throwing $100 bills at beggars. My arm was tired from throwing money all day, so I decided I'd go take a nap on the moon since I had some extra rocket fuel for my space shuttle left over. Well, right when I was about to drift off to sleep, it kept bugging me that I had an entire fortune to spend still, so I decided I'd just go buy some caffeine pills. I still haven't slept.

Is this bad, Massassi?
I had a blog. It sucked.
