Why is it the only mp3 player for linux that doesn't suck is a fork of a fork of xmms which is a winamp 2.x clone?

i just don't want a music "library" to have to keep up. i copy my itunes folder from my laptop, it's all organized fine. just want to be able to play folders.

why is that so ****ing difficult

Foobar does it..dunno if it'll work that way through WINE, though. I am a linux noob.

also unix uses a case-sensitive filesystem and it's inconvenient so all filenames should be lowercase hth

Just make sure you're running version 1.0.2.0001.b.rc6 or it'll corrupt the first 6 seconds of your music and randomly delete itself.

Run Xine and drag the folder of music into it. It even does visualizations.

You should use foobar2000 though. It's easily the best music player on any platform.

I love foobar. I didn't like the older version (a few years ago?), but the new one is phenomenal.
