I had a VERY good day.
There's an academic competition that starts at the regional level and builds to State in Illinois run by WYSE, and high school students get to test in engineering related areas. The head of the science department stuck me on the WYSE team for computer science and then put my secondary testing area as chemistry. I almost made top 3 in chemistry, and I took home 1st place in computer science; my school ended up advancing as whole because we did the best. The awards are a nice little medal, a piece of paper saying I got first place, and a 71 credit-hour scholarship at the community college where I took the tests. If only the town wasn't an hour away, I might use the scholarship this summer to pick up a few classes. Oh, and it was especially awesome since I got to tell everyone I was competing as a sophomore in highschool, and I'm farily certain I was the only person under grade 11.
Sectionals are in about a month, I'm hoping to do pretty well there too and actually get some studying in for the topic this time.
A very satisfying day.

I had a blog. It sucked.
