iTunes on Ubuntu

So, I've just installed Ubuntu and it's awesomecool and fast and everything, but have any of you guys on Ubuntu managed to install iTunes? I have a load of DRM-protected songs I bought through the iTunes Store, I don't think I can play them through any other player. What should I do?

You can only install iTunes 7, it only somewhat works, and I doubt you can play DRM'ed music from it. Welcome to Linux.

Songbird is awesome. Just unlock your silly DRMed songs and jump ship.

Hmm. I have another more unusual problem.. I have a Dell XPS Gen 2, which has both normal speakers and a little inbuilt subwoofer, with some little volume control buttons at the front. These buttons only control the normal speakers, leaving the subwoofer unchanged. It results in some fairly funky music, actually. In Windows, I can't control these separately but in Ubuntu I can't control them simultaneously. I'm not sure what I prefer!

Also how can I unlock my DRM music? I've gotten some of it unlocked through iTunes Plus!, but it cost me a fortune.

Runs fine for me, have you tried 1.0? Significant performance improvements from pre-1.0 versions.

Though to be fair I love my Windows apps too much. I was crushed when Winamp wouldn't work right in Wine.

I usually use Rhythmbox on Linux because it comes with a toolbar thing in Gnome.

It's still far too slow. And compared to other media players, it's still just useless, especially the UI. It's constantly playing catchup.

I actually found that Songbird for OSX runs pretty well, compared to it's Windows counterpart which sucks donkey dick.

I actually use Amarok, though, as it was the only one that could play my lossless *.wma files (Zune) and read the tag data correctly.
