happy birthday

2009-02-12, 9:42 AM #2
Who is Darwin?
2009-02-12, 9:46 AM #3
I'd post the standard happy birthday comic but unfortunately Darwin is already dead. So it wouldn't really work.

Nonetheless, happy birthday Charles!

Gallup Poll: On Darwin's birthday, only 4 in 10 believe in evolution

101%?
nope.

4 in 10 people believe in evolution.

In other news, researchers find that 6 out of 10 people are absolute morons.

Wow, there's a measurable and direct linear correlation between education level and belief in evolution.

It looks like the main difference between high school graduates/dropouts and undergraduates is just that more people have made up their minds. For the rest, though, I wonder if it's education that causes a shift toward evolution or if people who prescribe to evolution are just more likely to pursue research?

I'm going to guess that the people who believe in evolution are just more likely to pursue research. I'm also going to guess that most of the doctors who don't believe in evolution are doctors of art or psychology or something else equally ridiculous.

I suppose that makes me a moron with an IQ of -6 if I don't believe in evolution?
2009-02-12, 11:29 AM #13
Well no I don't think IQs go into the negatives but yes if you're a creationist then you're pretty stupid.

That's alright, I won't change what I believe for the sake of being not stupid. If you wish to label me stupid go ahead.

So what exactly do you believe in?

Hey, I think people who are undecided are alright. They know they don't have enough information to decide for sure.
2009-02-12, 11:36 AM #17
Creationism. I believe that God created the universe, the earth, animals and humans.

Do you also believe moses seperated the sea, and that Noah fit 40000 species of animals on the same boat?

I'm not going to sit here and argue something that's been argued before when I'm pretty sure nothing has been proven yet. If that's admitting defeat in a debate, fine.

You say to God, 'My beliefs are flawless and I am pure in your sight.' Oh, how I wish that God would speak, that he would open his lips against you and disclose to you the secrets of wisdom, for true wisdom has two sides.

I think Anakin believes that God inspired the bible, and believes what it says. I see no reason why this is laughable or stupid, and I respect a man who will stand by such beliefs, in the face of ridicule and other moronic aspects of those who claim to know much.
Nothing to see here, move along.

Noah's ark is a problem. We'll have to call it early quantum state phenomenon. Only way to fit 5000 species of mammal on the same boat.

Him believing Noah's Ark, knowing the logistics of it, is stupid. The materials, cost, how the hell Noah got animals from other continents, and time it would take to build such a vessel is astronomical. Believing in that fairy tale IS stupid.

To be very frank, I thought everyone in their right mind, whether christian or catholic or othewise believing in god realised that the Bible was a book of metaphors and at best myths, not a recount of proven facts and events.

Yes because it was magical wood silly just like the flood was a magical flood

It had the power of righteous cleansing and when in contact with the magical flood it resonated with it and became indestructible

That's also why after the ark landed it wasn't dirty at all
