or UPS or whatever they're called.

I just want to gauruntee a couple of minutes of power to my computer in case the power goes out / someone kicks out the plug / someone pulls the plug. Right now I'm just using a power strip which I'm a little bit wary of.

Stick to APC. They have replaceable batteries and last forever.

You'd still need a battery backup with that, as it would take at least several seconds to start up in case of a power failure. You might want to look into something with ultracapacitors and/or high-energy flywheels.

Didn't get it from newegg, but this is what I have. I run two computers on it just fine after a power outage. Haven't timed how long it'll last, but plenty of time to finish working on something, save and shutdown.
