If you remember my last post on all the drug war activity going on around here, I posted about a police vs drug traffickers incident. Well last night as I was walking from a friends house, another attack happened, in Torreon and Gomez. From what I gather, 11 dead here, 12 wounded and 7 dead in Gomez. Apparently things are gonna get even worse, Code Red was declared yesturday. Not sure if its gone today, but I have to go out to a job interview today.

Code red is declared in case of an emergency, like last night, all people must get off the streets immediatly. I got a ride home by pure luck, else I would have been evacuated to a safe zone by one of the many patrolling army / police trucks.

Again, I heard gun fire, but it was farther this time.

Bah, I'm REALLY considering to move to Canada.

Maybe Mexicans should head south to South America. I hear Brazil is pretty kinky.

It's sort of sad.

I wish they would just stop fighting over drugs.

Just let people have their drugs, and try to get some other things going so that drugs aren't the only thing supporting the economy. Maybe let people own some small bits of land or something...

You know, Drug dealers vs. Police isn't the only aspect of the drug war.

I hope the Mexican Government realizes drugs are the only thing keeping their economy afloat. Why not embrace them? haha..
2009-02-18, 8:44 PM #17
To be honest, I think these guys are getting desperate. They have lost leaders, they have lost men, funding, weapons, etc. It seems like they are trying to cause enough damage, to discourage the current government to pursue it further.

Apparently they now more often go to the American black market to purchase weapons, which seems to be a difference from before.

You do realize, that if Mexico wins the drug war, about 80% of the drugs imported and consumed by Americans will no longer be made and smuggled in by these guys?

The only thing American imports from Mexico are sub human second class citizens what make with the building of my deck for 70% of the cost. Even less if I get them a six pack.

Damn, they're cheap. My boss would pay me crap, but every day we'd have a carton of beer (20-22 beers) per employee.

No offense, but please do not come to Canada. If everyone came up here we'd be just like you guys, which is just unacceptable. I prefer my guns South of the border. :D

These statistics are SCARY.

A little outdated, but still. The difference is something I never expected as a person living in Toronto. I thought our gun murder rate would be a LOT higher.

Logistically speaking, you are wrong assuming that Mexicans in Canada would raise violence levels.

Seeing as there is only a couple hundred people causing all this, in a country of 100 million, I really doubt Mexicans can affect crime rates in Canada.

Nah, you guys could run riot in Canada. They all leave their doors unlocked, their police only ride horses, and anyway they're too polite to ask you to stop stealing things.
