No, not the one on your desktop.

I find it interesting that I initially saw her spinning clockwise. It wasn't until I looked at her reflection that I was finally able to also see the anti-clockwise rotation.

I also don't think I'm ruled by my feelings. I'm not a woman. :colbert:

Old nooz. I see it clockwise initially, but I just learned how to change it on command this time. I've never been able to do it before.
I had a blog. It sucked.

I can pretty much have her switch sides at will. I could do it without taking my eyes off her when I saw this long ago, but right now I can only switch her to clockwise if I turn my eyes leftward, and counterclockwise if I look down before looking up

Its wierd.

DO NOT WANT.

Left brain/right brain is the most stupidest thing ever. I guess Australians are dumb enough to believe in that stuff.

Ugh I got stuck at one point where I was seeing her upper body going one way and her lower body going the other.

I see both wys, so I used both sides of my brain!

Interestingly enough, I see it moving clockwise first, but am more left brained than right.
Pissed Off?

Every time I see this I keep seeing her spin clockwise, and no matter how hard I try, I can't make myself see her spinning counter-clockwise. It gets frustrating after a while because I just can't seem to be able to do it.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.
2009-02-20, 4:32 AM #13
I hate this picture. It always spins a different way the next time I look.

I used to have the two colour version because I refused to believe it and someone procured it.

Right/left brain is utter nonsense. Worse than horoscopes, this time around, because I saw clockwise first, and none of their listed traits describe me.

Though I'm having more trouble making it switch than I used to.
2009-02-20, 10:25 AM #17
first saw counter-clockwise, then switched it to clockwise, but I had to look at her feet to do that.
Fincham: Where are you going?
Me: I have no idea
Fincham: I meant where are you sitting. This wasn't an existential question.

I see it both ways, but i have to concentrate on it to see it going counter-clockwise.

clockwise
Can't make it go counter, but sometimes i'll see it for a second and loose it.

I see Clockwise. Same as before, though I could make it switch if I concentrated.

I tend to doubt the correlation to personality, because I'm an engineer.

Tried for about a minute to see it like that. Then I did. I wish I hadn't.

It's only ever going clockwise for me, I can't tell how to make it change =s

Initially, I see it spinning clockwise. However, if I look to the left of it, it begins spinning counter-clockwise until I look at it or to the right of it.

Right-brain left-brain isn't total bunk. People do appear to process specific things on specific sides of their brain. But that doesn't mean you're ruled by one side of your brain or the other. And it's not all neat and logical, artsy stuff here and logic there; that's just a bunch of left-brained people trying to make the world more orderly than it is.

Also it has nothing to do with which way that ***** spins.

It is true that some cognitive functions are lateralized, like much linguistic processing, which happens in Broca's and Wernicke's areas, which are located in the left hemisphere in just about everyone.

But going from that fact to the notion that there are left- and right-brained people is making the same step that astrology makes: sure, constellations and planets exist, but they don't have anything to do with people's personalities.
2009-02-22, 11:58 AM #38
The IDEA of left and right brained people is not so far fetched. Some people think more logically and some thing more. Er. Holistically, I think would be the proper concept. It's tyeing that to specific hemispheres where the error is.
2009-02-22, 1:16 PM #39
Sure: people are different. It's just that trying to relate those differences to pseudo-scientific terms is, well... pseudoscience.
