i guess my only question is how does the parent know he's following it or not? does he sit and watch every minute of the game?

Is it me or did it say if his team mates don't follow the convention he's not allowed to play?

ok we need to make a list of ways one could violate the geneva conventions in each call of duty game in both single and multiplayer

It seems a bit silly, "You can shoot people, just don't shoot the trees and stuff".
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

No that seems to just refer to WMDs.

Kroko doesn't read links hahaha. I must remember this in the future so I can easily refute his arguments by posting 404s and claiming they present overwhelming evidence.

" It is prohibited to employ methods or means of warfare which are intended, or may be expected, to cause widespread, long-term and severe damage to the natural environment."

it would work for anything that explodes

A grenade or a stick of TNT is not severe damage to the natural environment.

I can't think of any ways to violate the Geneva Conventions in CoD. There are no prisoners of war and no civilians to worry about.

Edit: I'm thinking specifically of CoD4 here. I haven't played the others in their entirety, so I don't know if there were POWs or civilians in those.

Depends on your definitions of long-term and severe.

If you blew up one tree in your attempts to wipe out the enemy, is that long-term and severe damage to the environment?
It's certainly severe to that one tree, but the environment of the area overall will live on.

You're a POW at the beginning of CoD:WaW. I don't know if the Japanese guard sticking a lit cigarette in your teammate's face and then slitting his throat with a katana is against the Geneva Convention, but I don't think it matters because I don't think the modern Geneva Convention was around then, and he's not your teammate.

The US never actually ratified the document. The kid can do whatever he wants.

I guess he couldn't play lemmings either, since they suicide bomb the environment.
