new cell phones (verizon)

My "new every 2" deal is up and I'm looking into purchasing a new phone. For financial reasons I'm sticking with Verizon, so that narrows down my avaliable choices by alot.

Currently its down to the Samsung Omnia. I don't know alot about this phone other then the reviews and forums I have read about it. I've played with in the store, but 10 minutes of fiddle time does not reveal nuances discovered after 2 months of solid use. Does anyone here currently own this phone, and if so, would you reccomend it?

Also, being that it is a winmo phone, would you suggest windows mobile or advise to stay away from it?

iPhone (lol).

OT, most Samsungs I've played with have been rather good. Except the U600 which was tramps' ballsacks.

Gzone is the best option if you just want a regular.
If you're looking for a smart phone only recommendation I can make is Blackberry * (Though I have not used one .. I hear the storm sucks)

I would rather get the curve at that rate, only because of the qwerty keypad. I really don't like the pearls key setup with the 2 letters per key.

Martyn, I would really like an iphone, but I'm in an older plan with Verizon that's saving me some cash by keeping, so as much as I'd like to switch to ATT, I can't really afford to.

I guess the reason why the Omnia attracted me was because of the:
Rev A 3g
the wifi (only phone on verizon that supports wifi currently)
the qwerty keyboard (switching from a voyager so this is a must, physical or touchscreen)
and unlike the storm, which is plagued by interface issues, the touch wiz reskin seems to run rather smoothly for a non-iphone device.

Also the internet browsing speed seems to be excellent compared to my dinosaur LG's "3g" speed. I use that alot so thats a huge plus for me.

So I'm guessing no one actually has this phone? =/

If money is an issue, be carefull about getting a blackberry. I think purchasing a blackberry requires a blackberry plan (at least verizon requires it) which typically costs an extra $30 or so per month.
