Proof concerning isotropic functions
2009-03-05, 5:44 AM #1
Ok, so I know we have some math and physics folk here, so I was wondering if someone could help me with this. Apparently, any isotropic function v has the relation below (where the symbol on the right is the Kronecker delta). I need to prove this relation. Does anyone have any ideas? Anyone seen or used this relation before?

hmmm... 4 years ago I could probably have helped, but my maths ability has dwindled somewhat since then. poley still works with crazy physics, maybe he can help

let me dig up my notes, this is gonna be fun...............not sure if I even did this, probably but I'll be buggered if I can remember on the spot.

If I can't there is a post-doc in the office who should know.
