If the theory is "it's not enjoyable for people who haven't read the graphic novel" , you may be onto something, but I can't say with certainty.

Were is the "Watched Watchmen, I've glanced at the comic" option? I've read about half it.
Then I was like "Oh crap I don't want to ruin the ending for the movie when it comes out"

I think you're missing the "meh, I enjoyed it I guess but it wasn't that great" population.

Just saying, you should have a neutral option :P

Dunno about that, I'm glad I didn't read it, would've given away the cool plot

Yeah, I think you'd have to have already read it to like it, honestly. The plot is just so complicating and so many things weren't explained in the movie that I think anyone who didn't already buy it wasn't going to. The people who didn't read the comic but really liked the movie probably didn't think too hard about it, honestly. It was a good action flick for them.

The plot is not complicated. Seriously, what's so hard to get about it?

Seriously, no :suicide:
I loved it for the plot, not the action. I wouldn't classify it as an action movie, theres far too much storyline going on for it to be a good action flick =p
But the characters, storyline and plot twists? Fantastic

Right now I like it, and have read the comic. I can see myself disliking it over time, however, as the film didn't add anything new to the graphic novel it seems more a novelty as a movie, and I can't see the feeling go beyond that.

Hey, I could be wrong about not reading the comic, but I was looking at it from the perspective of bringing one of my lady friends to it. They would've been really confused because of how many things are implied or taken for granted.

Well I'm speaking as someone who's never read the comic, but I don't want to just repeat what I said in the other thread.
But I'd be surprised if anyone I know didn't enjoy the movie, and so far I've had no surprises ;)

All four of my friends who saw it (having not read the comic) didn't really get lost by the movie. In fact, the only question I think I got was why does Rorschach's mask change.

it's not that it's that hard to follow, it's that a lot of things (characters, relationships-not necessarily romantic, some of the plot points) didn't seems as well developed as they probably were in the comic book.

I just felt rushed - not in a literal sense, it was a long movie - into getting to know so many complex characters with even more complex backgrounds, with all of these plot points popping up amid so much action.
