I just wanted to say that I hate the way americans advertises foreign films.
EXAMPLE:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqqcBkpmsSA SPANISH

For those of you that haven't seen the Orphanage, it's brilliant. Now that I'm done sucking it's c**k, let me explain something to you. The announcer in the american trailer literally MAKES UP A PLOT for the movie. What he says about things dissapearing and her being alone is not at all true. Also, all the sound effects in the trailer aren't even in the movie. The movie is not THE GRUDGE 3, it's The Orphanage, and it's brilliant.

I sure hope they don't advertise foreign films. I go out of my way NOT to buy something from some company that annoys me with ads.

And yes, the Orphanage is good.

America making crappy adds? this is new to you? dude. North America in general really dumbs down the ads and makes them look crappy.

the Spanish one did look 1000 times more interesting, but at the same time, I felt the trailer gave away too much. meh.

Having seen the movie I can assure you the movie gives nothing away.

no my point was that america did not create the trailer, but yet some moron did, just because they may live in america doesn't mean they should be affiliated with it

I think Grant was talking to SAJN, but that doesn't lessen your point. There's idiots world wide.

Hmm... that's not the American trailer I remember seeing. And yes, awesome movie. You should check out this movie as well.

Can you honestly say they've ever translated something properly?

I can't.
2009-03-12, 10:03 PM #13
Living in Mexico, I have seen how translated movies can sometimes change the ENTIRE plot of the original movie. I've seen it before, that is why I prefer movies that aren't dubbed.

Anyhow, the Spanish trailer is too long, but far better than the American one. Original trailers are usually superior to foreign trailers.
Nothing to see here, move along.

I was actually all set to bash SAJN when I opened this thread. But yeah... the American trailer is way ****tier than the European trailer. No argument here.
