I have some news I'm excited about so I figured what better place than the site that I've been a part of for nearly an entire decade.

My girlfriend and I went apartment hunting today, and found a place we love. The building has a pool, exercise room, and it's in a nice area. I've lived with my parents until a few months ago when I kind unofficially started living with my girlfriend. By this I mean I've been living out of my backpack with most of my possessions still at my parents house.

Now it's official and I couldn't be more excited, I haven't felt this good about something in a long time. :awesome:

I realize this is an e/n type thread and most of you probably don't care, but whatever, I'm bored and can't sleep and maybe it'll spark some interesting discussion.

So pop the question all ready! Might as well do it for the tax breaks.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

Exactly. I'm 23 and really wish I had moved out when I started university like most people do. But hey, at least my life is on the move now, and I'm happy about it.

Thanks ;)

Congrats Ag! :)
DO NOT WANT.

Really, really awesome :).

Stay enthusiastic!

That's cool. I'm 21, with my parents, and it would be awesome if I could move in somewhere with my GF but not totally economically feasible at the moment I don't think. I've been thinking lately about a supplemental part time job, which would certainly do the trick but I like devoting that time to school and the like.

Yeah, I had already planned to have moved by now, but it's so sweet and cheap.

Congrats on the big change. It's liberating and I miss living on my own.

Do you get to have your own room? Does anyone think it's weird, I would want my own bedroom, but no assumption where we sleep? Maybe that's because I'm little and that's feasible with queen sized beds.

Unless I dated a midget. We could get a racecar.

I don't think it's weird to prefer your own room. I wouldn't, howe'er, and I think it's odd that you'd say "do you get to have your own room" ;).

That's awesome, I'm totally jealous. I won't be able to move out until I find a full time job after graduation - and even then, it depends on where the job is.

I find myself fantasizing about having my own apartment and relaxing with a book and a bottle of wine. Particularly when I think about moving back home in May.
Fincham: Where are you going?
Me: I have no idea
Fincham: I meant where are you sitting. This wasn't an existential question.

im pretty sure no one enjoys having to move BACK home. both of my brothers had to move back to my parents' house after some personal stuff happened to them and they hated it. we all had to pay rent to them anyway. it sucked.

I've lived on my own for the past almost 4 years now. Had a place with a previous girlfriend, but it ended tragically and horribly. You'd think I would have learned from past mistakes, however now me and my girlfriend of a whole two weeks are about to start looking for a place.

We are madly in love, which will help hopefully, and I have a good feeling about all of it, but I know it's a stupid and hasty move. However I really don't want her to live with her ex husband anymore (who is a creepy, depressingly ugly loser who is like 32 as opposed to her 21, and still is madly in love with her apparently) and/or supporting him and his deadbeat dad who lives with them.

Anyways, congrats, hopefully I'll be moving in with my girl soon :)

I hope it works out mate, sounds like a nice place.

Coincidentally, I've been recently making arrangements on moving out of my parents house. Within a couple of months some good friends and I will rent a house and start a new life there. We've been talking about this for some good time now, and I think its gonna work out very well.
Nothing to see here, move along.

Thanks all. We have an appointment for 4 PM today to apply, hopefully all goes well.

And congrats to the others in a similar situation ;)

We looked at several units in the building we picked and the one next door (same company). If it doesn't work it'll be because of lack of credit so we'd probably need a cosigner. One thing at a time though, I'm not expecting problems. Time will tell.

i will be unofficially moving in with my fiancee sometime in may, when her dad gets married and moves out of the house.

its going to be :awesome:

Sorry, I missed that. No I don't get my own room, it's a 1 bedroom apartment. I don't want my own, seems like a needless expense. I will probably spend most of my time in the living room with my 37" LCD, which I miss dearly. It's at my parents house so I haven't been able to use it for months.

Got the call today: it's ours! Our application was accepted and we got our first pick:

Thanks guys. Got the call when I was leaving the bank today, couldn't wipe the smile off my face ;) Couldn't wait to get back to my girlfriend and tell her.

That looks like a great cozy little place. Nice!

Thanks :) I'm really glad we got the layout we did. Most of the other units are a lot more cut up and it makes the place feel so much smaller.
