My dad got this at a thrift store because he thinks it's a Bible. I think the language is Chinese, but can anyone tell me what it says and what it is?

I don't understand why he would think it's a bible?

It says "New Testament" so I'm guessing it's a Bible haha.

I dunno what the little characters in parentheses say, but probably the version (like king james version or something).


Also, I don't know if it's just the way you oriented/photographed it, but you have the book sideways ... the text is supposed to be read top-to-bottom, with lines going right to left. (So flip all of your images 90 degrees to the left and read the text in columns starting from the right-most column)

Ever seen one of the small Gideon New Testaments? It's slightly bigger than that.

I knew the book was sideways, that's how it was photographed. My mom took the pictures for me.

On second look, the bookmark suggests it's a bible.

Nonsense, I have a copy of the complete Hitchiker's trilogy (All five books) in one volume with a bookmark just like that. It even has gold edged velum pages and a leather bound cover like a bible.

Of course, it's much too thick to actually be a bible.

I think that was kind of the point, for that version to look like a bible. Got my ex girlfriend one.
