pig iron is very brittle and unusable for applications that don't involve smelting or making something heavy

I rather like the design of the Panasonic Toughbooks. Utilitarian and incredibly durable. These things are so strong and rugged that if a puma came at me, I could kill it.

Are those things really design to withstand damage of sorts or is it more of a marketing ploy?

If a laptop line didn't have a planned obsolescence of, what, 2-3 years and built to be as strong and durable as the original Game Boy, I would buy it.
