Hard drive dissapeared from bios.

Won't show up for anything. Tried swapping SATA cables, using different ports on the motherboard, using different power connector, unplugging primary harddrive, everything I could think of. This HD was working yesterday, and now suddenly wont work at all. What can I do besides smash my head against a wall? (it was my music/movies/etc drive>_<)

Try it in a different pc, if someone has an enclosure that's a good tester as well.

Kind of. It seems quieter than usual. Like its starting up but spinning slowly?

Can you access it through a Linux Live CD?

When Windows BSoDs (not If) occasionally it leaves one of my drives in an unusable state until I completely power down and restart the computer (it appears in Windows as unparititoned which is really scary and annoying).

If it doesn't show up in BIOS for him it sure as hell isn't going to show up in Linux.

Greenboy, your only real option right now is to try it on another PC. If it still doesn't work, it's dead.

Figured so. Someone should start making hard drives that don't randomly die after 5 months.
