Their house could explode!

If you think fire can travel down the pipes, you don't understand how fire works.

I think they're more worried about the gas building up in their house from running faucets.

They could probably fill containers with water, then let the natural gas evaporate from the water.

bottled water is effing expensive. Why pay for a service your entitled to as a homeowner?

Now thats granted the water was undrinkable.

Tap water costs money too. Also, around here it tastes highly of chlorine. Filtered water runs about 30-40 cents a gallon, and its easy to just fill up 10 gallons at a time for drinking use.

Bottled water is just tap water from somewhere else anyway.

You aren't 'entitled' to a city water supply, or a clean well. Sorry.

Also. The water was not burning.

Maybe we could operate without cars if our country was a tiny island with millenia-old infrastructure built up with modern technology. It's not.

This is silly for these people to hlbe so worked up over this. I don't see how it is "terrifying". Sure, that company needs to fix it. Meanwhile, quit putting open flames up to the faucet. :downswords:

Story says they have a well, so their water is significantly cheaper because they're only paying for the electricity used to operate the pump, which costs significantly less than your average city water charge. Although they would have a one-time cost of probably anywhere between $1000-$10000 to have the well drilled and pump installed.
