Shows that terrified you as a child?

What shows terrified you, or made you feel uneasy, as a child.

Fraggle Rock, or more specifically the bad guys from Fraggle Rock, creeped the **** out of me. To this day, I feel uneasy when I look at them.

ET didn't scare me but I remember another extraterrestrial flick with a more pinkish looking alien, that I think set something on fire. THAT scared the crap out of me. I remember it as "My friend Mac" but googling that doesn't seem to turn up any results so it must be the wrong title.3

Edit : Mac and Me! *shudder*

Snuffy from sesame street also scared me

Not really a TV show but still from the video I've watched the most in my life

And like most Finns born in the 1980s I did react unpleasantly to this fellow. Nowadays I kinda get the chills.

I used to be really frightened of the scene from Star Wars where the jawas capture R2D2...I'd always stop watching at that part.

The only thing that really comes to mind is some movie from the 50s that had a giant humanoid robot attacking a teen couple on a backwoods road. Scarred the smegging **** out of me. I must have been 4, maybe 5.
And when the moment is right, I'm gonna fly a kite.

Not really a kid's show, but I remember catching a glimpse of Stephen King's "It" when I was a child. I still don't trust clowns.

Yea, dude, I saw that when I was like 5. Nightmares for about a month.

I remember reading some horror book that had a tale about a mutant dog. I broke down crying thinking my dog would try to kill me.

E.T scared the everliving **** out of me.

The very first scene introducing E.T. (the shed in the back at night) was pretty scary, otherwise it didn't bother me too much. Instead I got spooked about a specific episode of "Are you afraid of the dark?" when I was little. It was one where there was a haunted camera that would take pictures of people dying.
2009-03-24, 6:11 PM #35
yeah E.T. scared me too. Also "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" - I always wanted to stay up extra late (being what, 10?) to watch it, but every time I did it would scare the bajesus out of me.
Fincham: Where are you going?
Me: I have no idea
Fincham: I meant where are you sitting. This wasn't an existential question.

The "Are you Afraid of the Dark" episode where the guy took artifacts from different shipwrecks, and then the ghosts of the people he stole stuff from came to get their stuff back FREAKED ME OUT.

Aside from that the only shows that really scared me were X-files and Friday the 13th the TV show. Now I realise it was a cool show, but back then, I HATED antique shops.

When I was a little kid and E.T. came out, it was a double feature, E.T. and Temple of Doom (weird grouping now that I think about it)
E.T. bored the absolute crap out of me, so much so I fell asleep towards the end, woke up when Indiana came on though... absolutely loved that.

The scientists at the end of ET were ****ing terrifying to kids. Bear in mind, at this time I'd watched things like Child's Play, Terminator, Predator and they were just cool. End of ET == D:

To a lesser extent, the very end of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

He choose .... poorly. Yikes.
