OCD Poll - What level do you have to have your volume set?

When the volume level on a TV, radio, etc. uses a digital/numbered level, what do you find you have to set it on?

For me, I think it's evens.

My car stereo volume is always in multiples of 4. My Zune volume is 12 or 10 with headphones, 16 when plugged into my car.

I'm hard of hearing, so it really depends on how ****ty the music director and mixing is on a TV show.

I can't understand the dialogue with some ****ing loud *** music going on. Cartoons are ESPECIALLY bad at this.

Rob, I think you're gonna be ok if you miss the dialogue of cartoons.
DO NOT WANT.

Actually, I agree, but I find it more of a problem with action series/movies. Quiet dialogue...OMG EXPLOSIONS AND GUNFIRE RATATATATATATATATAT BOOM!

This. I wish Bluray discs had an audio option that favored dialog over effects and music. I typically start watching movies at about 9:00 PM and massive explosions don't bode well for my neighbors.

I think my TV's on about 13, but my speakers have an analogue dial thingy.

You should be able to set the Center/Dialogue channels louder than the other channels. I dunno. I play them on my computer and I can individually adjust each of the channel outputs.

I hate when commercials are louder than the show, it seems to do this on a lot of channels on my Dish network

I either need a round number or a multiple of 5, and if it's the car, the volume is either 1/4th up (parents) or 1/2 up (myself).
Think while it's still legal.

I just put it to where I'm comfortable. It doesn't matter to me what number it is.

i hate that damn FX channel. they play the commercials so loud and then they lower the show/movie to half the volume.

Well, thats the point. It emphasizes the action.

Like in Army of Darkness when Ash is riding the death machine tank lawnmower, you can barely hear his witty comments. You know, because that thing was loud as ****.

In my car: 42

Also, 63 is a weird number to have for a max volume

Um. Generally loud enough for me to hear clearly but not so loud as to cause me discomfort, based on the device I'm using and the level of ambient noise wherever I am?

My headphone volume control is analog, you insensitive clods!

Winamp is 100%, and Volume Control is maxed out on Master and Wave, but it doesn't display a numeric for the settings.

It has to be set on an even number if above 5; if under 5, it can be on pretty much everything except 4. Any number with a 5 in it (15, 25, etc.) is pretty much immune to my insanity and can be chosen as well. >.>

In my car I'll cruise at 14-18 and turn it down to 7 at lights, parking lots, and neighborhoods, or when I shut the car off so I don't get the **** scared out of me later.

Everything else I own is just a bar:
Ipod - 2/3
TV - 1/4-1/2 for shows 1/2-2/3 for movies depending on if the stereo is on or not
PSP - 1/3-1/2
Desktop speakers - usually 1/6-1/4.. damn neighbors.

None of my volume indicators use numbers... Neiter my PC nor my stereo nor my car :(
2009-03-27, 6:40 AM #31
My jeep goes up to 24, and once I hit cruising speeds, it's usually on 18. But my speakers can't handle the output of the stereo, and so I usually have to adjust the amount of low end and the source level to keep the speakers from distorting. I'd probably go louder if I got a cleaner sound out those dumb speakers.

The speakers on my PC just has a knob with no marks on it.
