Worse thing is they didn't want people to know about.

i dont understand how these bacteria are getting past the water treatment plants. or is well water somehow deemed clean enough to bypass it?

edit: oh, nvm. buchanan is hick town in virginia in the middle of nowhere, pop. 1,233, med. income $32,000. they don't even have a treatment plant.

I went to the town meeting yesterday, that question was asked, an no one had an answer. Go figure.

I take GREAT offense to that comment. We have 3 treatment plants!

I got some information today which would of been nice of them to tell everyone yesterday but they didn't. Comes from someone in the Virginia Department of Health.

Apparently, all of the treatment plants work. As ragna pointed out, all that bacteria reported to be found should be taken care of in water treatment, and they are. E coli is found only in the 'raw' water, water before it's treated.

However, they are installing a new facility to take care of the cryptosporidium that's in the water.

News is reporting the problem is e coli.

Local and state government is saying it's cryptosporidium. No one knows for sure.
