20 most ridiculous complaints made to travel agents

Haha, this had me chortling for a while. These are all genuine complaints made by British holidaymakers. Don't worry, merkins, Britons are just as capable of unfathomable retardation.

Unfortunately, all the complaints are anonymous. My favourite is

And these are the same people that we'll be relying on to report suspicious behavior about potential terrorists? We're doomed.

Speaking of terrorists, my mom and I were in a store and I was telling her about this bird that won't stop pecking our windows. He does it so hard he's left blood trails all over the place. And it poops all over the decks and railings and anything on said decks. She asked, "what are you going to do about it?" I said, "Well, I have a gun." And then realized a lady was standing right there with her kid, she jumped about a mile high and I couldn't stop laughing. Although I booked out of the store before she could call the cops on me.

Also, is it just me or do sites with lists of xx number of things that make you click through ONE AT A TIME just really suck?

Pfft, Britons abroad are legendary.

:hist101:

I bet at least 90% of those are by people that read the Daily Mail. :P
nope.

If someone's too stupid to take their own vacation then complaints of this caliber do not surprise me.

They can't all be from Brits, a Brit would never complain about lack of air conditioning.

That's actually a VERY good point, Det.
nope.

actualy detty, I think that your upper class (becuase I think that the UK has some of the greatest differances between the classes in all the industrialized nations, even if it is just the upper class that stands out from the others, they stand out a WHOLE lot) snobs might complain about things like that.

In fact, the first thing that came to my mind about those quotes is that they came from upper class snobs that have probably never been away from any of their luxuries before.

I imagine upper class snobs would go to private villas etc where they don't have to bother with package holidays.
nope.

No it isn't.

The issue is the destination, not the departure point.

The point is that very few Brits have air conditioning anyway, therefore they wouldn't complain about a lack of it in a hot/humid environment. They'd just complain about it being hot/humid.

I can't think of anyone that has it, nor can I remember anyone ever complaining about a lack of it.

^What Det said.
nope.

True, but if they went to a hotter climate, would they be likely to consider it more of a problem?

No, we just complain about how hot it is, not a lack of air conditioning.
nope.
2009-04-06, 6:01 AM #21
yes, but their thought wouldn't be "damn i need some air conditioning", air conditioners don't enter into our daily vocabulary, you'd just think "damn it's hot"

Average is about 15-16C in summer, or about 60F.

Highest recorded temperature was about 38C 6 years ago. Roads melted.
nope.

We often get high 20s which makes sleeping very uncomfortable, but a fan and open windows normally sorts it out.

60F is incredibly comfortable weather. I can see why you wouldn't need A/C.

Unless it was all ultra ****ing humid. Humidity kills my sleep.
2009-04-06, 2:53 PM #26
Comfortable is relevant to what you're used to though, although yes 60F is nice. But thats the average of the entire season, including when its night.
nope.

I've been on holiday to Egypt, and I found air conditioning just gave me a headache, I find it really uncomfortable. It was much better just to sleep with the windows open.

Hmm... The average temperature here is about 30-35C, I've seen it higher a couple times though.

You're used to getting a noticeably higher amount of fresh (outdoor) air per unit of time than is supplied by most AC systems, I'm sure.

Opening windows doesn't help too much when it's 114F outside. ;)

But I guess I'm used to it.
