i collect and buy handheld consoles

wondering if anyone is planning on getting the GP2X Wiz
I've never had the GP2X or any linux-based hand held gaming console before.

just want some input from other people

i'd totally buy that pandora handheld, but they're sold out

Hmm handheld Linux sounds cool in concept, as long as I can control everything that runs on there (if I want to run an x server and kde/gnome/whatever shell it better let me).

Linux gaming system (handheld or not) is a terrible idea. Real consoles don't run desktop operating systems for a good reason: the extra security features slow the entire system down past the point of usefulness, preemptive multithreading is generally incompatible with low-end embedded CPUs, other performance features like asynchronous I/O and virtual memory make performance-critical portions of the game nondeterministic and the hardware abstraction layer an operating system offers is completely unnecessary when a platform is uniform and well-documented.

Not bad for a general purpose handheld though.
