I got a bunch of Sansas today

Well, not too many. 3. A 6GB one, a 4GB one (which has blue ring of death but I think I can fix), and a 2GB one.

They all came with all the cables, headphones and such but no packaging / instructions etc.

What should I do with them?

I'll pay for shipping on the 2 GB one to replace my dying e250. damn headphone jack drives me nuts.

The mini clip ones? I'll buy one if it's the mini clip one.
Or you could give it.

How can I check?

(What is the advantage of Rockboxing?)

I have an iPod Touch already (which I also got for free :awesome:) so I don't really need them as MP3 players...

I still want a sansa though. I got the 2gig off Woot for a present for my Mom. After trying it out before giving it to her, I'm like "Wow this is totally better than iPod." <3 voice record and radio.

You should have a contest and give away one. Sell the rest.

the way to tell (copied from the rockbox website)

The Sansa e200 and c200 have new "v2" models available. These can be distinguished from a v1 easily by checking the firmware version. v2 firmware is 3.x.x and v1 is 1.x.x. Rockbox does not work on these v2 models; they use a new chipset.

Yeah I had checked the site before posting this thread, actually, but I couldn't really figure out what was 'killer' about it other than just being an alternative firmware.

Rockbox adds a variety of things, not the least of which is adding more formats (such as .FLAC).

I also prefer the interface it has to vanilla.

Are you selling these? I'd be potentially interested.
