The Eye of the hurricane passed with in 2 miles of my house, meaning we got the eye wall.. which is where the fastest winds are (there is no wind in the eye) so my area got the worst of it...

I don't mean to be a jerk, but this is seriously not what the EC was designed for... You really should use the Massassi Image Corner ( http://imagecorner.sorrowind.net/ ).

I would post some pictures of my grandparents neighborhood if my stupid digital camera had felt like turning on. They're in the Conway area and their entire neighborhood is completely covered with HUGE oak trees. By is i mean was. What area of Orlando do you live in Spiral?

I am south of Orlando, in Kissimmee. I live on 192 (the main road in Kissimmee) about 2 miles east of John Young Parkway.

Makes you wonder why people live/build houses in the places they do. I sure as hell wouldn't live anywhere on the south Atlantic coast for this very reason.

Actually Freelancer, I live in Orlando. and the last hurricane that hit here was 60 years ago I believe. Because Orlando is in the middle of the state, most hurricanes get diverted up the coast. and in this case, the hurricane was knocked down from a level 4, to a level 2 by the time it got to us. So I think living in Orlando is extremely great witht he palmtrees and sunshine, every 60 years.

Oh, and my house sustained no damage, except the fence that you can see in the first shot, and my land lord will take care of that.

I wasn't aware of any faultlines nearby. Also, considering that the last earthquake of mention that happened in Boise was in 1916, and it wasn't powerful enough to do anything more than mess up some pipes and knock down some chimneys, I'm not exactly shaking in my boots. Granted, Idaho is among the states that have the most frequent earthquakes, but 90% of them take place in the wilderness and they are much lower magnitude than say - California or Alaska. The highest-recorded quake was in the mountains above Challis in '83, at a 7.1. If you check out http://neic.usgs.gov/neis/states/idaho/idaho_seismicity.html you can see that no quake has occured within 150 miles of Boise, or any other place on the Snake River plain in the past ten years.

In Arizona, the most we get is Dust Storms.

It fun though, because sometimes you can't see 2 feet because of the dust.

I hate the arizona dust storms. I also hate that leaving my car out in the rain results in a dirtier car.
