I went to a restaraunt on Galveston Bay in a place called Khemah, they had nets on the outside portion cleverly disguised as fitting with the dockside theme (Well, it was literally on a dock...) of the place, but I knew what they were really for: The gulls swarming right outside them.

Also my dad recalls fighting a pelican for fish when he lived in Florida.
