Mobile Athlon x2 chip, 2Gb with an 8200M. Vista.

IDEAS PLZ

I (finally) got Diablo II to run for a few minutes...LAN with my brother, then it crashed and I couldn't it get to run again.

Not looking for anything online, but thx!

I'll probably try the old standbys..Total Annihilation..etc. I installed BGII and Icewind Dale II, but the interface is painful...I'm spoiled by new stuff.

you should be fine with any source engine game, and games from around that time period. any rts made before 2008 should be fine too. stay away from mmo's, their footprint is too large.

what d2 error did you get?

The first time, it just froze. When I tried to run it again, I got a whole bunch of wonky colors.

Maybe I should try updating the video drivers.

LoD was made hastily so it's code is pretty damn sloppy, it would be nice if you could give some real info here.

also, you aren't using any <censored>, are you?

Fresh installation of DII/LoD off of real CDs, if that's what you're asking.

The game launched but the colors got all weird, like neon (think messed up JK textures, maybe?). Sorry, I don't know the technical term. After that, it wouldn't even run..just nothing. I could try again, but the CDs are at my brother's place.

ive seen the messed up color pallette before, my guess would be some conflict with video drivers. in the cd menu there should be someplace to change whether you use directdraw or d3d, try messing with it until it works

I booted up LoD a couple months ago ... got really bored.

if you want to play closed bnet on uswest, catch me on a really good day and ill hook you up with a full set of the best necro gear, like an almost perfect nig and shako, good sandstorm treks, 2 soj's, so on and so forth
