T4IEF would have worked better if they really wanted to go that route, but it really should have just been avoided.

This had better not be the modern-setting Thief 4 they were planning to make a few years back. That was a horrible idea.

I don't really know what to think. Vanilla Thief 3 has some good moments, but overall was a bit disappointing. Thief 3 with some interface and texture mods was a pretty decent game. I can't get to the forums, but I'm assuming that it will be coming out for a console and I'm hoping that the higher end consoles available now (compared to the xbox) means that it will avoid the tiny levels.

Also Thi4f is lame.

Thief 1/2 are two of my favorite games ever, and Deadly Shadows wasn't as terrible as people make it out to be. I really hope they don't ruin this.

I was rubbish at Theif 2. Hopefully if I put some time into it I won't blow goats this time around!

I've never played any of the games in the Thief series. But seriously somebody in marketing needs to be fired. Pronto.

I can't really see why or how they would dumb down Thief though. Usually when we say dumb down, we're talking about removing features that would usually not mesh so well with console controllers. I can't remember a thing in Thief games that wouldn't work with a regular 360 or Ps3 controller. And Wii sucks so who cares about it.

I for one am just giddy as hell they're attempting a new title in the Thief series.

... THIAF ... Sounds almost as bad as Fail Ex 3 will fail as a game.

Anyhow, I still haven't played any of the Thief games (as in all three) that I got in early 2005 for the total of 20 euros... now I could get them all for 14 euros but meh.

I don't think people make Deadly Shadows out to be terrible - it just has some really glaring flaws, such as the small levels making all the sections of the city you can explore seem way too small, the lack of rope arrows, and the pagans saying "bes" every other word.
The Cradle level was very well received. It's one of the creepiest levels in any game ever made.

I still don't understand how "triaf" is suppose to sound like "thief". Unless you have some sort of speech impediment?
