+1. Gonna try out the Zune again. I loved mine before (Zune 2 8GB Player) but without native OS X support it sucks (but that's Apple's fault). Too bad it isn't the Zune 2.

Zune Software does run, and interfaces with the Zune Player via Parallels and VMWare Fusion, just so you know. Might work with Virtualbox too, but I haven't tried it.

I used it with Parallels before but that was on my old computer with significantly less ram. Now I have 4GB on my new MacBook, so I'm curious to see out the Marketplace runs with better specs.

That's not a bad price for a 30gb Zune. I have an iPod touch, but I've been trying to track down a Zune for taking my music on the road. I don't really use my iPod touch for music tbh...its for portable movies and apps.
mirite?

I was going to make a new thread but I guess I'll just post it here.

I had 2 Ipods die on me. One was an early generation which crapped out 2 years in. And the other one was a 1st generation Ipod Nano which died out recently after ... 2 years of normal use. Not to mention the "wheel" started to fail a few months in. Picture below is of me holding said dead Ipod.

Either I'm having bad luck or Apple Ipods aren't known for their longevity. So I'm looking for a MP3 replacement. Is Zune line a good start to look? I just need something that is built tough and lasts. :(

I love my Zune, and I'll probably be buying the new Zune HD if/when it comes out. The Zune Pass alone is worth the device.

Yeah I loved the Zune pass, it got me into so many bands I didn't want to risk buying albums of to try out. Didn't they just start some program to keep 10 songs every month too?

Yep. You get 10 song credits a month that you can use to buy music permanently (and if it's in MP3, then 0 DRM as well). You have to make sure to use your credits though, as they don't carry over from month to month. All you do is click "buy" on a song and it'll offer to use the credit.

Do they have a good selection? I haven't used my 14 day trial yet..I'll probably give it a shot and see what I think.

Its a fairly good selection. I don't think its as populated as iTunes, but its definitely close.

I haven't even filled up my 30gig yet, but if I got another it would be the 120. Still a good deal though

Regarding the zune pass: how easy it to cancel the subscription? When I wanted to cancel my xbox live membership, I had to call them & spent 20 minutes on hold waiting for some unintelligible operator to finally help me.

You just turn auto-bill off.
