LA cop kicks suspect in the head

Google doesn't seem to be finding it just yet.

Anyone else see this?

Well, since you haven't described it, I'd google it for more info, but... :hist101:

lmao

Definitely brutality. If he hadn't surrendered, then fine, but he was PRONE. I mean, come on.

I see that some people have the "the bad guys do it, why can't we" line of thought. It's about showing who's the better person and giving an example.

ATTICA! ATTICA! ATTICA!
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

It wasn't an LA cop.
Pissed Off?

LA cops get enough **** as it is. They don't need to take shot for something someone from another agency did.

woot!

I think it's as simple as if you are running away from the cops, you waive your right to be treated kindly.

He needed to show him who was boss.

You guys know I'm of the opinion that if you break the law, you deserve what you get. This is not what I mean. If it's in the process of assaulting an officer, or running from an officer, or assaulting another person, then yes, I really have no pity for any people who get injured. But this is not the way things should be done. That's punishment, and police officers do not punish. The law punishes.

News reported it as an LA cop. :/

The law does not punish. The law does nothing but exist. The Judicial branch 'punishes', though it can do nothing but remove people's rights.

Good point, but it still supports my intent. ;)

I love the high-fiving and back-patting after their beating was administered. It's like watching over-excited school-kids in hall monitor uniforms. He literally kicked the guy in the head out of excitement at catching him, and then the other guy runs over to pull the already kicked guy's arm out of socket so he can get in a few "I had to run for this" blows to the ribs.

Yeah that's a pretty pathetic line of thought.
Especially if you spend more then 5 seconds thinking about it.
The bad guys steal, rape, murder, torture.... why can't we?

The good guys don't do the things the bad guys do because it's their job to STOP THOSE THINGS FROM HAPPENING

If you're going to kick him once and get in trouble for it, you might as well just keep kicking until you're tired....

That was an idiot move by the cop.

Not that the suspect didn't deserve it, in fact if I had my way he'd be shot dead. But that's not the point. The suspect was displaying no immediate threat so that use of force is grossly unjustified. That cop has a bigger ****storm headed his way than the suspect does.

if he was black, it'd be a different story

but wow he must be pretty flexible

Why not? It shouldn't have any effect on his trial and even if convicted (though it may invalidate the testimony of the arresting officer), he's still a victim of severe wrongdoing and well within his rights to seek legal action. Bad things being done to bad people doesn't make them good.

then please dear god! let him sue the officer himself and NOT the city.

yes yes i know... the officer is working for the city or county or whatever.
uhg! it is just sooooo annoying that every couple of months this or that city or government group is shelling out 6 to 7 figure settlements while simultaneously b******* about having to cut school budgets and needing to increase revenues...

seriously i can understand compensating for medical bills and such or any permanent disability but in most of these high profile cases the payout is vastly disproportionate to the injury.

i mean really, if being a wailing jenny gets you paid then by god!!! wont some government agency PLEASE emotionally distress me to the tune of 2.5 mil!

hey i would easily take a bat to the knee cap if i could get 7 figures out of it without getting in trouble for fraud... or a kick to the head either way... :colbert:

i mean really, it should not be considered emotional distress unless it causes you to wet the bed at least twice a week. but like i said sure, compensate for any actual medical bills and then discipline the offending officer accordingly.

If he did get compensated, he should take the money and get that stupid tattoo removed off his upper lip.
